Last night, six shots were fired into an empty police cruiser in the same neighborhood where Trayvon was killed, prompting Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett to declare that the town has become a "kindling box."
These are the first few words uttered by B. Smyth, who takes a verbal stand for Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was unjustly killed on the night of February 26.
Sanford police say one of their empty police cruisers was lit up in a hail of bullets while parked outside the Retreat at Twin Lakes where Trayvon was killed more than 40 days ago.
Special prosecutor to the Trayvon Martin shooting case, State Attorney Angela Corey, decided against using a grand jury, saying in a press release yesterday: “It’s not needed.”
Over a century later, we are still answering that question. Over a century later and our black men, like Trayvon Martin, are paying with their lives for being “a problem.”
Angela Corey is the tough-as-nails Florida State Attorney who decided earlier today not to use a grand jury in the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation.
