Now that all the controversy surrounding the elected emcees has fizzled out – we think – it’s time for a few of the emcees selected to prove exactly why they made the list.   

Just as we suspected, A$AP Rocky might have been way too hot to grace the cover of XXL's coveted Freshman Class issue.  

Though some artists on the cover have yet to make their considerable mark in the industry, one thing’s for sure: the Freshman Class cover is one of the most ideal platforms to launch from.

Last week two young men, one 17 and one 15, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at Drew High School in Georgia. We may never know if these words had anything to do with what they did.

March 9, 2012 marks the 15th anniversary since the late great Notorious B.I.G. was murdered and thankfully, XXL has dedicated their March issue in his honor.
