Last week, the FBI released the files from the 1997 Notorious B.I.G. murder investigation and now the bureau is following up with Tupac‘s files. Both cases remain unsolved and the investigations were closed for more than six years despite attempts by Biggie’s family to have the case reopened.

Tupac’s files delve into the alleged extortion of Pac and Eazy-E by the Jewish Defense League, a pro-Israel group that has been classified as a domestic terrorist organization. The JDL was last mentioned as the party in the middle (allegedly) of Dr. Dre’s infamous beef with Jerry Heller and Ruthless Records back in 1991.

According to the released files,  “JDL and others yet identified have been extorting money from various rap music stars via death threats.”

The JDL would reportedly contact artists, including Pac and Eazy E and issue death threats if money was not exchanged. Check out Tupac’s FBI files here.
