Little Monsters who’ve yet to see Lady Gaga in concert will have a chance to see the pop diva tonight when “Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden premieres on HBO tonight (May 7) at 9pm. The HBO special was taped in the “Born This Way” singer’s hometown of New York City last year and is set to feature a special look behind the scenes of Gaga’s tour, which features ten back-up dancers and a full piece band. Little Monsters will also get a sneak peak into Gaga’s life, as the diva breaks into tears while explaining how she still feels like “a loser” at times and has to remind herself that she’s a superstar.

We chatted with Gaga’s Creative Director and choreographer Laurieann Gibson to get an idea of what fans can expect to get from tonight’s HBO special. “The HBO special I directed on my own,” Gibson explained. “It’s really phenomenal. There were 17 cameras and you go backstage and it’s gonna be a really good ride.”

As for the ride, Gibson admits that it wasn’t a difficult task for her because of her closesness to Gaga’s brand and success. “… knowing every part of the show as the creative director and the choreographer and then ultimately understanding the brand, I developed a big part of it to be able to capture the bright, intimate moments in a way that her fans have never seen her I think is something that’s gonna shock everybody,” Gibson revealed.
