Hello again, Global Grinders!
Friday night I arrived in Beijing, China for a whirlwind trip, to participate as a judge in the “Miss Universe China Pageant,” and to give a special presentation about my foundation, “The Happy Hearts Fund,” (www.happyheartsfund.org) and spread our mission to a new and diverse audience across this land of a billion plus people!
The director of the Miss Universe China Pageant, Yue-Sai Kan, has made philanthropy a main focus of the program and a priority for the new Miss Universe China over the next year.

During the dress rehearsal for the competition I had the opportunity to meet Riyo Mori from Japan who was named Miss Universe in 2007. Since capturing the crown, she has traveled the world, lending her philanthropic support to various non-profit organizations. It was wonderful to share ideas and experiences with her and other like-minded individuals in the meeting we had set up with other non-profits while in this fascinating country…

Day 2…

I was so honored to have shared the stage with the beautiful, talented and caring young women on Sunday evening at the Miss Universe China 2011 Pageant in Beijing.
They all are driven to become strong leaders in their communities and represent China on an international level in the next competition. I was able to meet them personally and was so inspired to hear their passion to make positive change in the world. We all have special gifts and tonight I saw the gift of beauty, inside and out. We can all use our gifts to do something for those less fortunate, and I know these young women will do exactly that.
I would like to say a big thank you to Yue-Sai Kan for inviting and introducing Happy Hearts Fund and me to so many amazing people from around the world who came together to share this special event. Most importantly, Happy Hearts Fund was very proud to meet Riyo Mori ―  2007 Miss Universe ―  and engage with her on her efforts to help the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Please visit www.happyheartsfund.org to learn more and share our mission with your loved ones 🙂
Lots of love, light and happiness,

Petra
