While we’re used to the push backs of Lil Wayne’s albums, the ‘best rapper alive’ is releasing the highly-anticipated Tha Carter IV at midnight right after the MTV VMAs.

Today we got word that Weezy’s album will be hitting the web following the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, which kicks off at 8 pm ET/PT on Sunday, August 28th.
A step away from the exact method Jay-Z and Kanye West used in the internet release of Watch The Throne, Wayne is the first rapper to use an award show as an immediate prelude to their album drop.
Since releasing this great news to the public, his fans have been going crazy on the net. Everyone, including GlobalGrind is super excited to know that Tha Carter IV is only days away from release.
In a statement to the press the New Orleans native said:
“I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea.”
With features that include Drake, Busta Rhymes, and Rick Ross, fans of Mr. Carter are surely more excited to hear Wayne’s first album since his release from jail earlier this year.
