Good Morning World! What a week… Fashion week in NYC means parties, models, and music. Non-stop new fashion from cutting edge designers, ladies with names and accents from foreign lands, everybody waiting on line for an hour just for a 10 minute show; you gotta love Fashion Week. The music though, is always a fresh co-star. It has to be, as the fashion is the true star of the show.

Shout to my guy DJ Drama. While hanging out at the Marc Jacobs event this week the DJ played Drama’s new club smash Never See You Again which features Wale and new R&B sensation Talia Coles. Dawty Music flips the classic Run DMC Peter Piper drums. He turns it into an uptempo club record thats guaranteed to keep club booties moving at light speed. Ms Coles spotlights her vocal talent on this record as Wale just lends 20 bars of rhyme to keep the record edgy.

The song is a part of DJ Drama’s upcoming album Third Power.

B.o.B‘s takeover in the music game was ever present during this week’s fashion show as his records were the soundtrack to several runway shows I attended. On the way back from an event though, it was Dj KaySlay who murded the airwaves with a new B.o.B track Epic. Bobby Ray (B.o.B.) shows off his versitility, going from pop star to straight rhyme spitter, as he exchanges 16 bar jabs with Meek Mill and newcomer Playboy Tre.

Young Jeezy is on a campaign to make the streets hot with his namesake again. This week he leaked his new banger Nicks 2 Bricks, which features his new protege Freddie Gibbs. Mike Will Made It is the beatsmith behind this new ATL trapstar theme. Gibbs really stands out on this track as he lyrically delivers one of his hottest 16’s to date. Expect more from these 2 as Jeezy gears up to drop his next album.

Cleveland’s own Chip Tha Ripper returns this week with the track Realer. It’s an obvious ode to the many groupies I’m sure he’s met along his music journey. Chip’s patented nasal midwest wordplay rides this track effortlessly. The track is produced by a kid named RJ Da Fool and is a remake Ralph Tresvants classic “Sensitivity.” This track is simply to ride out to or to get more familiar with Chip if already late. Must hear music indeed.

Slimm Thuggs Boss Hogg Outlaws have been making noise lately, specifically L.E.$. A song that’s been making noise in Houston blasted out this week for all fans to enjoy Southern Nights. You can feel the real Hiram Clark and Northside of Houston coming through speaker from the moment you press play. The chopped up Isley Brothers sample under the low pitched vocal of the late DJ Screw is so H Town. If you’re in the car lean the seat back. If you’re on the block posted up, turn the bass up to car alarm levels. “Southern Nights” is one of those records. Until we read again…
