Floyd Mayweather knocked Victor Ortiz on his ass, bottom line! So I really don’t understand all this hoopla over it being a sucker punch or cheap shot.

VIDEO: Larry Merchants Goes At Floyd Mayweather After The Fight

The referee signaled the fighters to fight and instead of fighting, Vicious Victor Ortiz was more concerned with hugging and kissing Money Mayweather than boxing him.

During the post fight interview, Mayweather said about the incident, “I was always told to protect myself at all times. I got hit with a head butt. I got hit with elbows. I didn’t cry and complain.”

“We touched gloves, and once we touch gloves, it’s fight time. It’s open season,” he continued.

Open season was exactly what it was, as Ortiz fell to the canvas like a sack of potatoes.

I’ve been a boxing fan since as far back as I can remember and I must say, I agree with Mayweather. He can’t win the battle of public opinion.

Especially when it comes to Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather spoke about people saying he’s ducking Manny.

“We’ve been talking about this for the longest (time),” Mayweather said. “As I said before, Sugar Ray Leonard, we knew from his Olympic days he was going to be a great fighter. Michael Jordan, we knew from college he was going to be a great professional. Floyd Mayweather, we knew from the ’90s he was going to be a great professional. Look at all these different athletes, Kobe Bryant, from high school we knew he was going to be a great athlete. …

“Now you ask yourself, a fighter don’t just get 25 and all of a sudden be great. Fighters don’t just turn 25 and pop out of nowhere and say, ‘I’m knocking middleweights out, I’m knocking junior middleweights out.’ That just don’t happen.

“I just want an even playing field, that’s all,” Mayweather said. “If you don’t have nothing to hide, just take the (blood) test.” Pacquiao, who fights for Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions, has said he was willing to take the Olympic-style drug tests that Mayweather had demanded.

“When I was with Bob Arum, he said, ‘Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter I ever had.’ But then when I left his company and became my own boss, they say he’s ducking this guy and ducking that guy,” Mayweather said. “They say I’m ducking fighters for Bob Arum.

“Like I said before, I’m never going to get a fair shake. Whoever you put in front of me, they can’t beat me. They can’t beat me.”

Isn’t it about time we start saying it is what it is? Floyd is hard to beat. I feel like people are so concerned with not liking him because he speaks about his greatness and throws it in the faces of people, that they refuse to give him his props.

Disagree with his antics, his phone conversation with 50 Cent via stacks of money, his buying numerous fancy cars and hate on his lifestyle all you want, but the kid is nice in the ring.

With or without a title, Floyd Money Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. So, strip away all of your hate for the man and face the facts.

Floyd knocked out Ortiz fair and square and while Manny Pacquiao should be next, let’s make sure it’s a fair fight and no one is on one.
