Kanye West offered up his debut fashion line during Paris Fashion Week earlier today and the result was as cool, cutting edge and luxe as one would expect from the inimitable hip-hop visionary.
Named Dw, after his mother Donda West who passed away in 2007, the line offered up a collection of neutrally shaded tough girl chic ensembles, heavy on layering and texture.
Held in a Paris middle school named Lycee Henri IV, a veritable mixture of fashion and celeb royalty were seated front row, including Ciara, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Mr. Hudson, Sky Ferreira, Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Jared Leto, Terry Richardson, Designers Joseph Altuzarra, Dean and Dan Caton of Dsquared, Alexander Wang & Jeremy Scott.
Model Chanel Iman closed the runway show with Anja Rubik, Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn also walking.
The clothing was reportedly inspired by Christine Centenera, an editor at Harper’s Bazaar Australia. Check out an example of her style in our accompanying gallery.
