Earlier this morning the internet went crazy after rumors that Jamaican reggae artist Vybez Kartel had broken out of prison.

The Jamaican star entertainer is in prison for allegedly killing two men, as well as for marijuana possession and gun possession.
However we confirmed that everything was a complete hoax.

Though Kartel didn’t escape prison, jail breaks are not that uncommon, inmates still try their best to cut loose and flee.
From Alcatraz to Auschwitz, there are no limits on what prisoners will do to escape, even prisons with the highest security!

Pascal Payet managed to escape from Grasse prison using a helicopter that was hijacked at an airport in France by four masked men. He was captured soon after his escape.

Libby Prison Escape was an escape organized by Union soldiers during the Civil War, who were being held captive by Confederates as POWs. Over 50 soliders managed to escape after digging a hole in the prison’s basement that let them to a nearby shed where they were then able to flee.

There has been no known successful attempt to escape Alcatraz except for, possibly, the escape of Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers. It is said that they managed to get to the roof of the prison, go slide down a drainage pipe line and then they built a raft and fled. Antonio Ferrara made his escape from Fresnes, France prison after his buddies fired grenade equipped rocket launchers into the prison. Antonio got himself out of his cell by using TNT dynamite that may have been given to him by a guard. Wow.

This mom decided she was going to break her son Jay Sigler out of Everglades Correctional Institution by crashing her car straight into his jail cell. Of course, this did not work!

These seven men managed to escape from John Connally Unit prison in Texas using a single axe! As the men knocked out each guard, they gathered more weaponry. Where they got the axe from is unknown, however, all men were put on death row where they were captured. One committed suicide and another has already been executed.

Alfie Hinds made his third escape from Chelmsford Prison in England, when he used a court appearance as an opportunity to flee. Alfie was smuggled a padlock and when officers transported him to the restroom, he was able to defeat the guard and flee, only to be captured five hours later at an airport.
