While most of the stars may be frequenting Miami celebrating Art Basel, Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons, Angela Simmons, Katy Perry, Russell Brand, David Lynch, Laura Dern, Marcia Gay Harden, Djimon Housou and a slew of other stars opted to head to Los Angeles to support The David Lynch Foundation’s 3rd Annual Change Begins Within Benefit held at LACMA last night.
Kimora looked stunning in a sparkling blue dress while niece Angela also sported a shimmering look with her silver dress topped with a white blazer. The men of the hour, Russell, Russell Brand, Djimon and David Lynch opted for black suits sans the ties.

The event gathered meditating stars, leaders of veterans groups, and top scientists and educators, who
gathered to raise funds for The David Lynch Foundation, whose mission is to help people in need overcome traumatic stress and transform their lives from within.

Suitably so, at the charitable event, David Lynch announced a $1 million grant to teach veterans to meditate as veterans frequently face with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders upon their return from combat.
The generious grant wasn’t the only big news of the night, Russell Simmons, was also was honored with the “Enlightened Giver Award.” The other Russell, Russell Brand, was in attendance to present the award to Mr. Simmons, and Russell couldn’t have be happier with the honor, as well as Brand’s presentation. He tells us:
“Russell Brand was amazing last night! He had the whole room laughing so hard. His wife was sitting next to me and was laughing like crazy. He almost had me in tears. His stand-up was incredible as he interviewed the quantum physic guy and then went onto political commentary. I realy loved everything he said from his rap about immigrants to transcendental meditation to making fun of the audience. He’s earned a spot on the next Def Comedy Jam, The World Yoga Conference and he should speak at the next Progressive Political Conference. The man is brilliant!”
