According to the Des Moines Register, Arnold went up to Newt at a campaigning event and asked him why he should get his vote.
Arnold said:
“I asked him if he’s elected, how does he plan to engage gay Americans. How are we to support him? And he told me to support Obama… hen you ask somebody a question and you expect them to support all Americans and have everyone’s general interest… It’s a little bit frustrating and disheartening when you’re told to support the other side, that he doesn’t need your support.”

Gingrich certainly has a history of not showing gay support.
Earlier this month he told the Christian Family Leader organization that he would oppose any legislative efforts that sought to define marriage as anything other than a union between man and woman.
