Odd Future’s front man, Tyler the Creator, 20, was arrested on Thursday night after he trashed sound equipment inside the world famous Roxy on Sunset Blvd.

The New York Times reports:

Tyler, the Creator, the young Los Angeles rapper known for violent and grotesque lyrics, was arrested on Thursday night in a club where he was performing a Christmas concert and charged with vandalizing sound equipment, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested him shortly after 11:30 p.m. as he left the club. A few minutes earlier bouncers at the club, the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard, called the police and said the rapper had destroyed an electronic soundboard.

The arrest caused a commotion outside the club as angry patrons flooded into the street and hurled insults at officers when they put the rapper, whose real name is Tyler Okonma, in a squad car, the sheriff’s department said.

Several squad cars from the sheriff’s department and the Beverly Hills Police Department went to the scene and more than a dozen officers dispersed the crowd, closing down Sunset Boulevard for about a half-hour, the sheriff’s department said.

Mr. Okonma, 20, was taken to a sheriff’s station and charged with felony vandalism. He was released on $20,000 bond early on Friday, the sheriff’s department said. There were no other arrests and no serious injuries reported.
