13-year-old actress and model Elle Fanning is officially a teen and is also the cover girl for February’s Teen Vogue. Come to find out, Elle has the fashion chops of a woman three times her age!
Elle’s big sister Dakota Fanning dished some dirt about her sister to the teen fashion bible and readily admitted that Elle is the “go-to” fashion person in the family.

“Elle knows every single model, every single collection, every single piece from every single collection. She has a real passion, and it’s not at all in a materialistic way. She genuinely appreciates the workmanship and creativity,” Dakota says. “It’s funny, ’cause when you’re an older sister, you try to be the leader and example, and I’ve recently had to accept that we’re equals. The day has come when I actually need her help. I’ve had to admit that to myself and break down and be like, ‘Little sister, does this look good?’”
Elle also reveals how she picks out what she wants to wear to premieres:
“Even before there’s a premiere, I’ll know my favorite dress from one of the collections,” she says. Her usual picks include Valentino and Rodarte, but she’s also very excited about Louis Vuitton’s spring collection. “Oh my gosh!” she shrieks. “They looked like little cupcakes and pastel pastries—so pretty!”
Elle also talks about her appreciation of her age and style:
“I’d much rather look like a two-year-old than a 21-year-old.” She added: “If people say something is sort of weird, I’m like, Oh, that’s a great compliment!”

Elle’s future is definitely a bright one. As long as she stays as level headed as her older sister, the Fannings will definitely be a doing great things in Hollywood for years to come.
