More violence in Syria, this time inflicted upon foreign innocents!

Last week, the United Nations’ General Assembly voted to condemn the actions of the Syrian government, led by President Assad, against innocent protestors and citizens in the country.
Syria has shown no regard for that resolution or even for the League of Arab Nations, which has been outspoken in its disapproval of the Syrian government’s conduct.
Today the Syrian government has again proven its brutality in the murdering of two foreigners: French photojournalist Remi Ochlik and American reporter Marie Colvin.
According to the Associated Press, both Remi and Marie were employees for Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper.

The French government is not at all happy about this. France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy said, “That’s enough now, the regime must go,” in regards to the death of both journalists.
France’s Foreign Minister Alain Juppe also spoke of the attacks on the journalists, saying it shows “increasingly intolerable repression” from the Syrian government.
Remi and Marie are said to have died by fire from helicopter gunships, according to a Syrian activist.
Our condolences not only go out to the foreign journalists who were murdered by Assad’s brutal government, but to the many innocent Syrian lives that have been lost in the fight against repression.
