In the past we’ve brought you the dirtiest cities in the world and the most dangerous cities in America to showcase how people live in other parts of the world. Now we have the most obese states in America!
These are the states that will have you plumper than a Thanksgiving turkey.
Earlier this week the good folks at Gallup researched and tracked the well-being of every state across the country, but as an extension of that research they were also able to find the obese rate of the 50 states in America.
Participants were asked to report their height and weight, allowing Gallup to calculate their body mass index (BMI). A person is considered obese if they have a BMI of 30 or higher.

The state-level data was based on daily surveys conducted from January through December 2011. But which states are the most obese? Let’s find out!
