What better way to debut new music than on a SXSW stage?

That’s exactly what West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar was thinking, because he debuted the Neptunes produced track “Staircases” during his set.

Last August, photos surfaced of the popular producer and artist hanging out in the studio. “Staircases” most likely represents the result of their 2011 rendezvous.

On the laid back track, Kendrick raps on the hook:

“Staircases take me high, high, high / escalators take me high, high, high / ladders take me high, high, high / elevators take me high, high, high.”

The song was captured by cell phone so the quality isn’t up to par, but hopefully Kendrick will release a CDQ version in the days to come.

The newest Interscope / Aftermath signee’s debut studio album Good Kid In A Mad City is due out later this year.

But for now, click and enjoy the snippet of “Staircases.”
