They say a man’s home is his castle and if you enter said home with intent to rob or harm, that man has a right to kill you without facing prosecution.
STORY: Million Hoodie March! NYC Rides For Trayvon Martin
It all stems from the Castle Doctrine, a law that states a person has a right, if they feel harmed in any way by a home intruder, to kill that intruder without becoming liable to prosecution.

An extension of that law is the “Stand Your Ground Law,” which we have been hearing so much about in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting.
EXCLUSIVE: The 411 On Trayvon Martin’s Killer George Zimmerman
Florida is among 22 states with a “Stand Your Ground Law,” which gives people the right to use deadly force rather than retreat during a fight.
EXCLUSIVE: Dear Black People, Look In The Mirror, Are We The Reason?
It’s pretty much a self-defense law, which explains why neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman has not been arrested in the shooting death of Trayvon.
While the case has gained national attention, George Zimmerman has not been arrested or charged with killing Trayvon – as he has claimed self-defense.
In Florida, the “Stand Your Ground” law states that you can use deadly force without attempting to retreat in any location, which we’ve seen in the case of Trayvon and Zimmerman.
Zimmerman confronted Trayvon, pulled his 9mm pistol, and shot him a few yards from his home, all because he looked “suspicious.”
Whether in your home or on the street in 21 states in America, if confronted by someone and they feel you’re threatening their life, they can use deadly force.
