Spike Lee “did the wrong thing” when he retweeted the supposed home address of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, FL.

According to the Washington Times, not only was the address a fake, but the residence didn’t even belong to Zimmerman, rather to a woman who lives in Edgewater Circle, which is not part of the gated Retreat at Twin Lakes where the shooting took place.
Spike retweeted to his 200,000 followers the faux address as members of the New Black Panther Party were offering a $10,000 cash reward for Zimmerman’s capture, “dead or alive,” and others were demanding his arrest.
The retweet by Spike has since been deleted. Hopefully Spike learned his lesson that tweeting the address of someone is never a good thing, who knows what, or who, will show up at your doorstep.
