UPDATE 2:00 EST

Associated Press reports:

Officer Jason Willingham said Saturday that police are searching for a white man driving a white pickup, which was spotted in the area of three of the shootings. At least two dozen officers are investigating the case, along with the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service.

A suspect in Tulsa, Oklahoma is on the run after shooting 4 people, all of whom were walking through their neighborhoods when encountered.

According to Tulsa World, the shootings occurred in two separate incidents that were three miles apart. Sgt. Dave Walker has linked the two incidents based on timing and location. Walker told reporters:

“There is no forensic evidence to link at this point. Timing and location lead us to believe they may be connected. This is an opportunity to do what we’re supposed to do. It’s a challenge. I haven’t seen anything like this in my career.”

Because all of the victims are Black, there is worry about whether or not the attacks were inspired by racial hatred. President of Tulsa’s NAACP chapter Rev. Warren Blakney Sr. spoke on the matter saying:

“When there are reports that someone “systematically shot black folk, what is one left to believe? We’re very concerned. I am on edge for my people.”

Walker said residents in the area where shootings occurred should expect to see higher levels of police patrolling.
