Zooey Deschanel is showing off those beautiful blue eyes on the cover of Marie Claire’s May 2012 issue.
The New Girl star also got a chance to sit down with the fashion mag and discuss her past, what we can expect from her show that just got picked up for another season and her love life.

When discussing her past as an overweight 12-year-old at the artsy Crossroads school, Zooey said:
“I was ridiculed,” she says. The low point came when a mean girl spit in her face. “I really don’t know why she spit at me,” Deschanel says. “I just talked to her. I guess I wasn’t allowed to talk to her. I remember I couldn’t believe it.”
They say that the best form of revenge is success and we think that Zooey is experiencing the ultimate taste of revenge right now. The issue, due out on April 17, also has a photo spread that features a few less than bubbly images of the normally perky singer/actress.
