According to a statement from the school’s athletic department, Holliman, a defensive lineman, and Singh, a defensive back, are recovering from non-life-threatening wounds they received.

Bowling Green Police spokesman Ronnie Ward said it appears someone shot into a crowd outside the bar and struck the players.

Ward said police are still trying to identify a suspect saying he hoped to get more information about what happened when Holliman and Singh are well enough to be interviewed.

Ward said an officer happened to be driving by the scene when he heard gunshots and called for backup at 12:39 am. The school’s statement said Coach Willie Taggart has spoken to the parents of both players.

Holliman is a sophomore from Tucker, Georgia and Singh is a freshman from Auburndale, Florida.
