People are questioning whether it has enough viewers and more importantly, how big of a hole is it in financially?

While there were murmurs about grave financial losses at the network, Discovery CEO David Zaslav says, “Despite what you read, we’re making real progress.”

On the other hand, Zaslav admits that OWN has “a long way to go” and will break even in the second half of 2013.

The network has cut costs and employees, so they will not be responsible for a reported close to $50 million quarterly loss again.

The future is bright for Oprah and her network, as major cable companies will start forking over higher fees in order to air the channel.

OWN has now become the 27th highest rated network for women with about 15 million viewers a week.

We can only hope that Oprah succeeds with her network and all of our moms and grandmas (and you!) keep watching!
