Usher and Pharrell have been making classics together for over ten years.

And when June 12 comes, and Usher’s seventh album Looking 4 Myself drops, expect a couple more classics.

MUSIC: Rick Ross & Usher “Touch’ N You”

Yesterday, Usher appeared on MTV’s live interactive show MTV First and gave details about his upcoming album.

One of the more interesting moments came when he started talking about two of his collaborations with The Neptunes’ Pharrell.

Usher played a snippet of “Twisted,” a old-school, funky sounding jawn that mixes in The Neptunes’ old sound with ’70s style James Brown kind of funk.

The song sounds crazy, and Usher had this to say:

“’Twisted’ is more of a nostalgic record, so when you think about the classic R&B record, we managed a way to modernize it, even though that’s very relevant,” the singer said. “You hear records like Cee Lo, you hear Bruno Mars and also Andre 3000, and that sound is very relevant in this time. So this was kind of our way to tie it all together and give you something different that you probably wouldn’t normally get from me.”

MUSIC: Usher “Climax”

While there, Usher also touched on his other Pharrell collaboration which feature’s Harlem’s kingpin, A$AP Rocky.
