Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged and I couldn’t be happier.

All right, I’m sure I could be happier, but that’s neither here nor there. Miley joins Snooki and my friend Amber Rose as the latest women to have someone put a ring on it.

All my life I had an idea of what a wife or fiancee was. I grew up on The Cosby Show and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, so I always thought a wife was more like Claire Huxtable, fine as all outdoors, covered herself modestly when she dressed, had an amazing job, and was without an ounce of ratchetness in her being.

STORY: Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Are Engaged

Only thing was, I was never attracted to girls who completely covered themselves when they got dressed, and didn’t have an ounce of ratchetness in them. I’ve always been attracted to women who weren’t the typical version of what a wife would be. It really makes me think: is there a new standard for what a wife should be?

Miley Cyrus likes to bite giant black c*ck cakes, smoke a bit of icky and run the streets without a bra whenever she feels like it.

Snooki likes to stumble out on the beach drunk, eat pickles and dress like she just came back from a safari, but hey, someone loves her. When did our ideal vision of what a wife should be change?

I ask that because the more I look around, the more I see Claire Huxtable types growing old alone. Granted one of the other editors here told me, “You don’t know what Claire Huxtable was doing in college.”

This is true, but then that would prove my point. Traditional women are boring, and more and more, men like a lady with a little bit of ratchetness.

Now I’m not saying we want to put a ring on a Kat Stacks, but hey, Natalie Nunn got a ring and she had a fight at her wedding. So my advice to women who want a ring would be to throw a bottle at someone, let your booty hang out the bottom of your shorts, or just put glitter on the avatar pictures that you posed for with your lips poked out like a duck.

Be ratchet and get a ring. It’s the new tradition.
