In a stunning turn, the US House passed resolution 255-67 to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress over Operation Fast and Furious documents.

STORY: They Mad! House Committee Holds Attorney General Eric Holder In Contempt

Operation Fast and Furious was conducted by ATF agents in Arizona in an effort to intercept all weapons they believed were illicitly purchased.

Their goal was to track such weapons to high-level arms traffickers, and to dismantle their networks.

The agents in Arizona lost track of many of the weapons in the operation. Two of the guns that “walked” in the operation were found at the scene of the slaying of U.S. border agent Brian Terry.

A House committee has been investigating the operation and the Department of Justice’s response to the investigation for more than a year.

While in Florida speaking to a Hispanic group, Holder said the contempt vote in the House was “misguided.”
