The good folks in Australia have been waiting 20 years for Madonna to perform on their soil again.

Keep waiting, mates.

VIDEO: Madonna “Turn Up the Radio” 

LiveNation, Madonna’s promoter, confirmed that the legendary singer has canceled the Australian leg of her MDNA tour. No reason has been given, but there were rumors that it was due to low sales and a crowded concert market.

A spokesperson for LiveNation said: 

“Madonna’s tour will end in South America in December as planned. That’s all we can say,” a spokesperson said.”

There were no dates officially announced, but rumors were running rampant that Madonna would be putting on some shows Down Under. Actually, they were more than rumors, with several media outlets reporting that stadiums had already been booked in Sydney and Melbourne for dates early in 2013. 

Dates were expected to announce after the 2012 Olympics. 

For Madonna’s last two tours, the legendary singer was supposed to stop in Australia, but this time, the shows were canceled due to logistics and financial reasons.
