“You are the company you keep.”

That’s a phrase Barack Obama knew all too well while running for President in 2008, when Republican opposition, namely Sarah Palin, accused him of “palling around with terrorists” because of his association with University of Illinois at Chicago Professor Bill Ayers.

Ayers was a former Weather Underground leader who claimed responsibility for bombing the Capitol, the Pentagon, the State Department Building and banks, courthouses and police stations over 40 years ago.

When Republican opposition got word that Ayers and Obama served together on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago, a charitable organization focused on welfare reform and affordable housing, all hell broke loose and Obama became a terrorist sympathizer, even though Ayers had long left his past behind him.

Obama said of Ayers at the time:

(He is) ”not somebody who I exchanged ideas from on a regular basis” and called him ”somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old.”

Mitt Romney finds himself in the same predicament; in the past couple months it was revealed, among other things, that Romney may have done business with men who financed either directly or through political parties, death squads in El Salvador.

In his latest attack ad, Romney challenges Obama’s character and asks if he’s suited to be President for four more years.

Well, palling around with guys who poured money into death squads exhibits a character flaw, wouldn’t you say?

You think death squads in El Salvador is something, take a look at who else Romney has been rubbing shoulders with…

First, let’s look at the death squads.

When Romney was asked by his boss Bill Bain to start Bain Capital, Romney needed investors, so he flew to Miami and met with a group of El Salvadorians who were looking for new investment vehicles as turmoil engulfed their region.

They gave Romney roughly $9 million of Bain Capital’s start up funding, according to the Los Angeles Times, thus becoming valued clients.

As it turns out, many of the El Salvadorians were a part of the ruling class that deployed death squads to beat back left-wing guerrillas during the country’s civil war.

In 1999, Romney did confirm to the Salt Lake Tribune that Bain had investors in El Salvador.

Next, let’s look at casino tycoon billionaire Sheldon Adelson. Once a supporter of Newt Gingrich, he vowed during the Republican Presidential campaign that he was willing to spend $100 million to get Newt in the White House.

But Adelson has switched sides, now pumping unlimited amounts of money into Romney’s Super PAC called “Winning the Future.”

But Adelson’s exploits doesn’t end there, he is currently being investigated by Nevada regulators on whether his company Las Vegas Sand Corp. broke bribery laws through its dealings in mainland China.

We guess when you’re a billionaire you can buy anything, including China!

The Romney money team rolls on, as it was revealed that the Republican candidate held a campaign event at a Miami juice shop owned by convicted cocaine trafficker Reinaldo Bermudez.

In November 1997, Bermudez was identified as one of 12 people accused in a Colombian drug smuggling operation.

Yes that’s right, Romney palled around with a drug trafficker; now imagine if Obama held a campaign rally at Jimmy Henchmen’s house?

Romney also rides heavy with Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson, who believes that homosexuality is a choice.

Last week, Romney held a private closed door meeting with the evangelical leader. Not only does Dobson hold views on gays that are morally wrong, but he also believes homosexuals can be cured and turned into heterosexuals through counseling.

Dobson also believes that the government is being infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Who are these people that Mitt Romney is surrounding himself with?!
