Always willing to support a good cause, the Islamic Circle of North America ICNA will be distributing 30,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to low income communities across the country as part of their “Back 2 School Giveaway” on August 24th in New York City.

ICNA is one of the largest grassroots Muslim American organizations in the US. Their relief and charity program, ICNA Relief, has provided national disaster aid to communities across the country and is recognized by FEMA and NVOAD, and has been funded by the American Red Cross and the September 11th Fund.

The “Back 2 School Giveaway,” in partnership with City Council member Robert Jackson, will distribute over 1,000 backpacks to children in need. There will be 11 distribution centers throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx from August 24th-September 2nd.
