On her identity:
“Afrikaners are pure, of German descent, Boer and Dutch. I love South Africa. I commit myself by such in thousands of social causes, the same as Mandela and Mr. Mthombeni, activist mayor of the province Umkhanyakude, the poorest of the country.”
On moving to Los Angeles at age 18 after an unsuccessful go at modeling:
“It is thanks to you and the world of Italian fashion that I realized that I was not liked.”
On being a mom to her adopted child, Jackson:
”I always wanted to have children. Recently my mother found a letter I wrote when I was 8 years old, where I asked her to take me to the orphanage because I wanted to adopt a little brother. So it’s not been a decision taken lightly. When I hold my baby in my arms I forget every problem. I love it, it makes me gentle and serene.”
