Let me start by saying, I’m not a musical guy! I never watched Glee and I’ll try my best to talk my dates into going to see any movie that deals with explosions, fights, and wild drunk nights. I say all of that to say that Pitch Perfect was freaking hilarious and highly entertaining.

It even makes my top 3 musicals, to sit alongside Grease and Little Shop Of Horrors.

The movie takes places at Barden University, when freshman Becca, played by Anna Kendrick, arrives on campus to find out she hates her roommate, and that she doesn’t want to be there. She also quickly finds out that her father being a professor on campus is going to mean an extreme lack of privacy.

What Becca really wants to do is work on her killer DJ skills, so she applies for a job at the local radio station. Along the way she meets Fat Amy, played by Rebel Wilson, and joins a competitive acappella singing group called The Bellas.

Let’s just say their run for a national championship ended up sick!

Throughout the movie The Bellas embark on a hilarious journey of singing fun. I found myself in tears from laughter while watching this film. I didn’t know what to expect, but writer Kay Cannon and director Jason Moore got this one all the way right.

Add in dope music, Ester Dean, and funny ass Hana Mae Lee and this movie is pure gold. The perfect date movie, this one is worth your 12 bucks and since it’s a date, chip in a little extra for some popcorn…

Pitch Perfect is currently in theaters everywhere!
