G.O.O.D. Music rapper 2 Chainz is educating ex-cons on their right to vote and how to let their voices be heard in the upcoming election.

In an interview with Fuse, the “No Lie” artist talked about his involvement with the Respect My Vote campaign and explained how and why convicted felons, like himself, can cast their vote in the presidential election.
2 Chainz opened up about how a felony charge that he received at the age of 15 made him feel disempowered because he thought it had taken away his right to vote. He reminisced about a time when he was at the mall and was asked to register to vote.
“I just felt like it was too late. Like I made a mistake when I was young, and I just couldn’t fix it. Well after talking to her and just doing my research, I realized [that] you can vote again once you’re a felon.”
The Southern rapper went on to explain just how easy it is for those with a felony to assure their voting rights, simply by filing the right paperwork.
“It’s so easy that you just have to do the research on it. You don’t have to go to a courthouse. You just have to file [paperwork]. You have to have an address, you have to be stable.”
He closed off the interview with a very important message:
“November 6, where will you be? I’ll be voting.”
