Although the series of lively and highly entertaining presidential debates between President Obama and Governor Romney came to a close last night, each debate has left us with hashtags and quotable gaffes that we will always remember.

In the first debate, Romney’s attack on “Big Bird” sent the social media world into a frenzy, which resulted in lots of video and pics of angry muppets on Sesame Street. In the second debate, memes of Romney’s “binders full of women” comment kept us laughing and talking for days, while last night, Obama’s “horses and bayonets” zinger caused a stir in the social media universe. 

It started when the President mocked Romney for saying that the Navy needed more ships.

“You mention the Navy, and how we have fewer ships than 1916. We also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military has changed,” Obama retorted.
