Some people in the Romney camp have criticized Gov. Chris Christie for all the nonpartisan praise he’s been giving President Obama regarding his handling of the Hurricane Sandy tragedy.

Since the superstorm ravaged the Eastern Coast, the New Jersey Governor and President Obama have been working hand-in-hand in the relief effort. Though some people commend the two for putting politics aside, other Republicans have argued that Christie, an influential GOP member, can hurt Mitt Romney’s prospects in the White House by commending Obama.

To reassure his critics of his GOP loyalty, he announced that through he appreciates Obama’s outreach to help his fallen state, he will be casting his vote for Romney on Tuesday. But he also defended his praise for the Democratic incumbent:

“I’m a Republican and I have endorsed Mitt Romney, I support him and I intend to vote for him on Tuesday,” said Christie, a Romney surrogate.

He also added, “If the President of United States comes here and he’s willing to help my people and he does it, then I’m gonna say nice things about him, because he’s earned it. Anybody who is upset in the Republican Party about this — they haven’t been to New Jersey. Come see the destruction, come see the loss.”

You can’t be mad at Gov. Christie for keeping it real!
