Ke$ha has stormed back on the scene this last several weeks with a few new, top choice selections. Now I don’t usually plug remixes but this “Die Young (Remix)” is worthy of two turntables, two speakers and a crowd of drunk ladies dancing. It features the production talents of the 2000 version Dr Luke and lyrics courtesy of my man Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa and (who is) Becky G. This is definitely the right hip-pop mesh to attract those club fans worldwide. It won’t get on your nervous and it may actually give Juicy J his top 10 pop hit! Stay tuned…

The Obama victory hip-hop records circuit continues to make rounds in the blogosphere. This week it was Wale’s turn to give his “acceptance speech” in the form of a new song titled “Freedom of Speech.” It’s a dope record filled with presidential punch lines intermixed with that organic flow that has made Wale DC’s most famous artist since Amerie. Even before the Maybach conglomerate, Wale was always fresh. He hasn’t tried to become what other members of MMG are, rather, Wale has made his own respectable way. “Freedom of Speech” is the first taste of his highly anticipated mixtape Folarin.

In case you missed it, this Kanye West “White Dress” is a hip-hop classic. This week they released a slightly more smoothed out version that still rings off harder than gravel. I’ll bet money that this record is the hottest on RZA’s Man with the Iron Fist Soundtrack. On the verbal side, it’s definitely an ode from Yeezy to Kimmy, but somehow it almost feels like a new age theme song for Shaft or Super Fly. Kanye’s classic lyrical manifesto leaves you feeling like he may be on some real black James Bond ish when it come to the ladies.

Nuff respect and big up to all my people from across the pond in the UK. Specifically though, London’s own Master Shortie is a new age, new level of lyrical fiyyah. If you get to peep this kid’s live show do yourself a favor and pay that fee. Meanwhile chew on this new sh*t called “Crazy.” The beat definitely has that euro hip-hop grudge feel that made artists like Dizzy Rascal and The Streets household names in the UK. Word to the late great Amy Winehouse, Master Shortie — not to be confused with my man DJ Shortee Blitz — reps for the newer era of those badass London kids doing some of the freshest music in the world.

Let me introduce you to one the flyest, newest and dopest up-and-coming artist in the rap game: Brooklyn’s own Joey BadA$$. This isn’t for the pop hip-hop head. There is actually a movement of dope young MCs. Kendrick Lamar, Dee-1, Macklamore and of course Joey are the example. The track is called “Enter the Void” and features Black Hippy’s own Ab-Soul. Prepare to have your mind blown…that is if you rolled up!

Until we read again…
