What’s Up World!?!

It’s another week of hot joints that you need to make sure that you have rotating in your car, itunes, i-pod or whatever device you use to satisfy your audio pleasure. The lovely Marsha Ambrosius is back in the studio and with the right producers this time. My man, the multi-talented club DJ and producer afficianado Diplo gave Marsha a gem in her newest track Cold War. It meshes the best of both worlds; her scentilating vocals over his futuristic production. Marsha’s lyrics are as magical as ever as she describes her battle with love. Enjoy..

And it’s another one for R&B crooner Ne Yo on his latest track Should Be You which features Fabolous and Diddy. The chairman of the boards, both literally and figuratively, Salaam Remi is behind the silky smooth sounds. With the title Should Be You, this is an ex lovers ode to what could’ve been. It’s a beautiful record that I myself could dedicate to few of my past situations. You have to love how Fab keeps his verse so gully while Diddy gives you that grown man real shit, the 40 year flow!

Back to that hardcore street ish. This new Meyhem Lauren featuring Action Bronson ‘Thousand Dollar Gym Shoes’ is that real ish! It’s back to back on this as 2 of Queens dopest MC’s keep that million dollar flow alive that the Q Boro is infamous for. ‘Gym Shoes’ is just a dusty sample looped over and over so prepare to ‘bob ya head’. You miss good hip hop music like this even though there is great music to be found. Peep.

Usually we don’t do the remix but this Mos Def, I mean Yesin Bey ‘I Don’t Like’  freestyle stopped traffic for like 5 minutes in the blogisphere this week. I dig what Bey did with it and I think you will too. For the record, the original I Don’t Like was a smash, like pure ignorance coming through your speakers on steroids. It’s apart of music’s freedom of speech and hip hop’s real street report That said it’s always dope to see respected MC’s showing their respect to what’s hot and now.

Always got love for the MC Casey Veggies. This new joint Smart Water is another masher. The beat is courtesy of new producer Chuck Strangers. I love Young Veggies Cali swagged out flow over this vintage hip hop loop that was widely popular in the grimy NY 90’s hip hop sample scene. Veggies new mixtape is set to drop sometime soon but until we read again, black out to the sounds of this….
