There are few “sneakerheads” that will disagree that the Air Max 90 infrared is one of Nike’s most classic models.

Although it is a classic, the infrared version of the Air Max has been re-vamped and reworked almost more than any other shoe in Nike’s history.

The infrared Air Max 90 manages to still keep its integrity throughout changes like the color being slightly modified, the material being updated, or the complete sole of the shoe being swapped out. Fans of the shoe could conceivably purchase an Air Max 90 in the classic infrared colorway every two years since 2002.

A little known fact is that first color of the Infrared Air Max 90 was not “infrared” at all! Originally called orange, the Air Max 90 has not changed drastically since 1990, but Afew Store still took it upon themselves to document all of the changes in the shoe since its inception in 1990. You can check out that evolution above and if you would like to follow along with the video, check out the timeline below.
