Nas took over New York City for New Year’s Eve!

Queens was in the building at Radio City Music Hall as the legendary emcee hooked up with Becks Sapphire and Hot 97 to prove that Life Is Good.

DETAILS: Hall Of Fame! Illmatic Gets A Classic Re-Release

The night started off sipping a few drinks while Mister Cee took the crowd across America with hip-hop hits to warm up the crowd. He played smash hits from Biggie, Pac, Jay-Z, Big Pun and of course, Nas. The crowd was really into it, and I even found myself spitting a few lyrics or two.

After Mister Cee had the crowd, the lovely Elle Varner hit the stage looking like a bag of money. She performed numerous songs before rightfully closing her set with “Refill.” What else would you close out with on New Year’s Eve, am I right? So while the Nas set was getting ready, I ran into the lobby to indeed get another refill before Nasty Nas took to the stage.

With my drank in my cup, I quickly dodged the sea of people drinking beers and other alcoholic beverages to catch Nas open up his show holding Kelis’ green dress, as he jumped into “No Introduction,” before running though a few more cuts off Life Is Good.

With the New Year approaching, Nas had to take the crowd back with classics from Illmatic, including bringing out AZ for my personal favorite moment of the evening, “Life’s A Bitch.”

After a few songs, the clock quickly struck midnight and Nas lifted his bottle of Dom P to the sky and gave a toast, as the turnt up audience brought in the New Year with a true legend of hip-hop!
