Through the glitz and glam of being part of a pop group sensation, it’s not always as easy as it looks.

Michelle Williams recently revealed a battle she went through behind the scenes of being apart of Destiny’s Child, and says it was one of the toughest of her life.

The 32-year-old singer recently told the Huffington Post about her fight with depression through her career over the years.

She told the site:

“I’ve dealt with depression. I had to choose to get out of bed and do whatever I needed to do to be happy.”
Michelle revealed that she started dealing with depression when she was just 15 or 16, but never started any medication for it.

She also told the website:

‘Just go to church and pray about it. The Lord is going to heal you.’ Well, in the meantime, I believe God-gifted people, physicians, doctors, therapists — that’s your healing. Take advantage of it. Go see a professional so that they can assess you. It’s okay if you’re going through something. Depression is not okay, but it is okay to go get help.”

Michelle realized that getting help for a condition is always the best thing to do, no matter how severe, which is why things are going better for her today!

She continued:

“Sometimes you’re going to wake up on the wrong side of the bed or some situation might have you down in the dumps, but you have to choose to be happy. I’m choosing life. And I’m hoping this album makes people want to choose life.”
We’re glad Michelle got through her tough time so that she could be as successful as she is today!

Yo go girl!
