Seriously, who thought this would shape up to be a good idea?

Mountain Dew has been representing a more urban vibe, signing Lil Wayne and letting Tyler, the Creator’s self-proclaimed “stupid ideas” come to life.

And the latter has come back to bite them.

Tyler is the director behind the latest Mountain Dew commercial that has been deemed “racist” by the public and subsequently pulled by Pepsi Co.

The now-removed video shows a battered and bruised white woman attempting to identify her attacker from a line-up of all black men (members of Odd Future) and Tyler’s infamous Felicia the Goat character. The goat ends up being the perpetrator, threatening the woman in slang, stating: “Ya better not snitch on a playa.”

According to The Associated Press, Mountain Dew’s parent company PepsiCo “apologized in a statement and said it understood how the ad could be offensive. Jen Ryan, a spokeswoman for PepsiCo, said the company was alerted on Tuesday by its consumer relations team that some people found the ad offensive. The company immediately decided to take down the spot and was told by Tyler that he would remove it from his YouTube channel as well,” she said.
