Just today, a big break came in the Boston Marathon bombings investigation when federal authorities confirmed that three new arrests had been made.

Come to find out, the suspects were actually bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s close friends…and they apparently “ride or die” for him.

Authorities are saying that the three suspects – Robio Phillipos (19), Azamat Tazhayakov, and Dias Kadrybayev – have all been charged with making false material statements to officials who suspected that they destroyed evidence in Dzhokhar’s room to protect him.

Because, isn’t that what friends of criminals do?

In fact, investigators eventually found Dzhokhar’s backpack and it was full of fireworks that could have been instrumental in building explosives.

The same backpack that the three said they didn’t see. Needless to say, they’re in some deep sh*t.

Here’s all we know about Dzhokhar’s friends-now-turned-felons.

Suspect 1: Azamat Tazhayakov

Tazhayakov was a student at The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth with Dzhokhar.

He is originally from Kazakhstan and not a U.S. citizen.

Tazhayakov was taken into custody last week in New Bedford, Mass. He has spent a week in county jail on allegations of violating his student visa while attending college.

He will be charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements.

Suspect 2: Dias Kadyrbayev

Kadyrbayev is also a student and classmate of Dzhokhar’s.

He and Tazhayakov are both originally from Kazakhstan, and he is not a U.S. citizen.

He will be charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements.

Suspect 3: Robel Phillipos

Phillipos is a 19-year-old student from Cambridge.

He is being charged with making false statements only.

After he appeared in front of a judge on Wednesday, he waived his right to a bail hearing. His next court date is Monday, May 6.

Story developing.
