One little girl from the Tampa Bay area just got a memorable moment of a lifetime at a Rays’ baseball game.
Her father, who had been stationed in Afghanistan for the past two years, Lieutenant Colonel Will Adams, sent a video message to his 9-year-old daughter Alayna on the big screen, but she didn’t realize he was actually in the stadium for the game!
After the video aired, Alayna got to walk to the mound to deliver the first pitch of the game, but was actually throwing the ball to her disguised father who was the catcher!
10 News reports:
Adams was expected to return home Monday, but the Rays and United Services Organization arranged the surprise early arrival. Adams’ wife Dana, who was at the game with their daughter, was also surprised.
The two had a very emotional reunion in front of thousands of cheering fans, and they couldn’t have been happier! Watch it all unfold in the video above.
