Virginia Republican lieutenant governor candidate E.W Jackson argued on Wednesday that the ‘Great Society’ programs caused a great deal of harm to African American people. In fact, more harm than slavery.

Citing the decline in black children being raised by two (opposite sex) parents, Jackson declared, “it wasn’t slavery that did that, it was government that did that.”

During an event on Wednesday to celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday marking the end of slavery, Jackson claimed that those in his family history who were slaves were actually more intact and close-knit than most black families today. Jackson feels that government programs are changing the mindset of African American families by promoting the fact that women are OK by themselves and do not to need a man.

There are 20 percent of black children are living in a two-parent house hold today.

“It wasn’t slavery that did that, it was government that did that, trying to solve problems that only God can solve and that only we as human beings can solve,” he said.

Looks like this guy needs a thorough history lesson.
