Well, this is one way to do it.

The UK is taking a more preemptive approach to tackling joblessness, truancy, addiction, and other unproductive behaviors by having actually police come into homes to get people off their butts to be proactive!

According to Chancellor George Osborne, these individuals cost taxpayers up to £330,000 a year.

Rather than spending money on reactive measures, which is the current method, the ministry is ordering officials to physically knock on 400,000 doors to wake up adults and children to ensure they attend job interviews, rehab, and school.

According to the Daily Mail:

A more coordinated approach, which will see one dedicated official take responsibility for ensuring that children go to school, adults attend job interviews and the whole family stays out of trouble, will be more effective, ministers argue.

We’ll have to wait and see how this invasive approach pans out, but when your wake up call is an armed policeman, you probably won’t miss the bus.

As for Americans, an alarm clock will work for us for now.
