Texas Democrat Wendy Davis’ impressive filibuster last week will only hold off pro-life supporters for so long.

The senate is reconvening this week for a 30-day special session and lieutenant governor David Dewhurst and governor Rick Perry are confident the Republican voice will prevail.

“It will pass overwhelmingly and will become the law in the state,” Perry said Friday in an interview with conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. “I think the voice of the people of Texas will be heard.”

Dewhurst has vowed to handle protestors and reporters more firmly, and urged his followers to use a #stand4life hashtag to drum up attention on social media outlets. Still, Davis is staying strong and confident, insisting:

“These are matters of personal liberty. In Texas, we hold very dear to intrusions against our personal liberty. We fight very hard against that. And we will fight as we begin the session again on Monday.”

Stay tuned, it’s going to be a long month.
