More than a decade after his untimely death, a biopic on the life of Tupac Shakur will make it’s way to the big screen.

Morgan Creek Productions and Emmet Furia Films are in the final stages of negotiations on the biopic that will detail the life and death of the legendary rapper. The film has been appropriately titled Tupac.

Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur has played a large role in the film, signing on as executive producer. The rap biopic will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson, and LT Hutton. Randall Emmett and George Furia will also play a role in production.

The film boasts a $45 million budget and will focus on the life of the rap icon. Tupac Shakur was shot in 1996; he was just 25-years-old.

Filming is set to begin in 2014 in Atlanta. Deadline.com is reporting that the film’s producers have the rights to use Tupac’s musical catalog for the film.
