Lorde scores one hit single, and now she can’t stop criticizing her musical peers.
New Zealand pop star Lorde slammed Drake and Nicki Minaj for rapping about luxury items and “opulent” goods. The teenage singer (who we think is a grown ass woman) revealed her true sentiments about hip-hop and two of its biggest stars in a recent interview.
During the interview, Lorde dished about how she started listening to hip-hop last year, and wasn’t amused by the boastful lyrics.
“Around the middle of last year I started listening to a lot of rap, like Nicki Minaj and Drake. They all sing about such opulence, stuff that just didn’t relate to me—or anyone that I knew. I began thinking, ‘How are we listening to this? It’s completely irrelevant’.”
To say Drake and Nicki Minaj are irrelevant is completely untrue, but hey, everyone is entitled their opinion.
Just a few months ago, Lorde had a mean girl moment and criticized Selena Gomez for not being a feminist because of her hyper-sexual single “Come And Get It.”
