Everybody who’s anybody is down in Miami for the annual international art show Art Basel.

So it comes as no surprise that Kanye West and his wifey-to-be Kim Kardashian are in the “Magic City” enjoying the art world. Yesterday, the “Bound 2” rapper appeared during a live chat discussion at Surface Magazine’s DesignDialogues No. 6 event with Hans Ulrich Obrist and architect Jacques Herzog.

During his live chat, Kanye revealed that his forthcoming album would be minimalistic.

“I think my next album is going to be eight songs. It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need. People say a design is the point where you can’t take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here. If I hadn’t made Yeezus, I wouldn’t be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here.”

Earlier this week, A Tribe Called Quest emcee Q-Tip announced he would be teaming up with Rick Rubin to assist Kanye in producing his new album.

In other Kanye West news, the good folks at Hot 97 finally released his full Juan Epstein interview. Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds took a different approach with Kanye and discussed strictly hip-hop and his days as an up and coming producer.

There’s no word on when Kanye will release his new album, but it’s rumored to drop in summer 2014.
