First thing’s first, he’s the realest.

It’s no secret Drake goes in on his verses. We love him for having fun and keeping us on our toes, and we can go on and on about why he’s so great, but what Drake does best is drop knowledge.

If you haven’t sat in bed and listened to the entire Take Care album from beginning to end and just thought about everything that’s ever happened in your life, do it. I did, and Nothing Was the Same (see what I did there?)

Drakespeare’s rhymes and lines about life tell it like it is and make us realize things we hadn’t before he said them.

While we’re anxiously awaiting new album Views From the 6, check out Drizzy’s best lines in the list below:

“I’m urging all daughters to kiss their mothers with those lips that all that lipstick covers. You’re never too grown up to miss and hug her.” – Paris Morton Music

It’s no secret Drake is a momma’s boy, and he just wants everyone to love their mom, too. How sweet is that?

“If I ignore all that advice and something isn’t right then who will I complain to?” – The Real Her ft. Lil WayneAndre 3000

We’ve all been there. Your friends give you advice and you don’t follow it, and then you don’t know who to vent to when shit hits the fan. Drake knows.

“I know we were going through some shit. Name a couple that isn’t.” – From Time ft. Jhene Aiko

Even if your girlfriend is your #WCW every week, every relationship has problems. Drizzy keeps it real.

“From the concrete who knew that a flower would grow?” – Fireworks ft. Alicia Keys

Beautiful things can come from nothing when you least expect it. Ugh.

“Somewhere between I want it and I got it.” – Furthest Thing

Literally how all us milennials feel every. single. day. Preach.

“All in all, I learned a lesson from it, though. You never see it coming, you just get to see it go.” – Fireworks ft. Alicia Keys

Hindsight is 20/20. No regrets, just lessons learned. Yes.

“I like when money makes a difference but don’t make you different.” – From Time ft. Jhene Aiko

Well said. Money is helpful, but should not change you as a person.

“I live for the nights that I can’t remember with the people that I won’t forget, spending all the money I just worked my ass off for doing things that I won’t regret.” – Show Me a Good Time

We’re young. If you have money, spend it doing things you actually enjoy with people you love. If you enjoyed doing something don’t regret spending money on it, ever. Memories are priceless.

“Don’t you ever forget about your story. I get it, you did it, you did it.” – 305 To My City ft. Detail

No matter what happens or how successful you get, don’t forget where you come from or how/if you started [from the bottom].

“The way you walk, that’s me. The way you talk, that’s me. The way you’ve got your hair up, did you forget that’s me? – Shot for Me

There are certain things you take from every relationship, whether it be romantic or a friendship, and keep with you forever. This line hits the nail on the head. This is the ultimate “go f*ck yourself” song, without actually being that aggressive about it.

“When a good thing goes bad it’s not the end of the world. It’s just the end of a world that you had with one girl.” – Doing it Wrong

Perfect song to listen to when you know you shouldn’t be with someone but can’t put your finger on exactly why. Sometimes it’s just not there and the relationship isn’t right. And that’s OK. It’s not the end of the world. Drake said so.

“We live in a generation of not being in love and not being together. But we sure make it feel like we’re together, because we’re scared to see each other with somebody else.” – Doing it Wrong

Shout out to everyone “talking to,” “hooking up with,” “seeing,” or just “texting” someone. People are scared to commit but too afraid to be alone, and he says it perfectly with this line.

“She asked what have I learned since getting richer. I learned working with the negatives to make for better pictures.” – HYFR (Hell Ya F*cking Right) ft. Lil Wayne

Don’t stay stuck on the negatives. Feed off negative energy to strive for a positive.

“I wish you would learn to love people and use things, and not the other way around.” – Connect

Speaking to how materialistic people are nowadays.

“N*ggas talk more than b*tches these days.” – Own It

Guys think girls gossip? Think again! Guys are secretly the biggest gossip-mongers out there. You tell ’em, Drake.

“My uncle used to have all these things on his bucket list and now he’s acting like ‘Oh well, this is life, I guess.’ Nah, f*ck that sh*t. Listen man, you can still do what you wanna do, you gotta trust that sh*t.” – Too Much ft. Sampha

Basically, don’t give up and don’t settle. If you want something, go for it.

“Baby she look like a star, but only on camera. Only on camera, only on camera. It look like we in love, but only on camera.” – Cameras/Good Ones Go Interlude

Don’t believe everything you see. People put on fronts for cameras (or Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

“It’s not about who did it first, it’s about who did it right.” – Wu-Tang Forever

Straight and to the point.

“My father’s living in Memphis now, he can’t come this way, over some child support and minor charges that just wasn’t paid. Boo-hoo. Sad story. Black American dad story.” – Look What You’ve Done

How real is that? Drake is not shy when it comes to sharing his life in his music and so many people can relate because of it.

“I was ready… fuck that, I’ve been ready. Since my dad used to tell me he was comin’ to the house to get me. He ain’t show up. Valuable lesson, man I had to grow up.” – 0 to 100/The Catch Up

OK, yeah, Drake has some daddy issues. But in the bigger sense, we’ve all been there. Sometimes the only way to learn a lesson is to be let down.

“You know life is what we make it, and a chance is like a picture, it’d be nice if you just take it.” – Unthinkable by Alicia Keys ft. Drake

Take chances! Carpe diem! Go out and do things!

“Jealousy is just love and hate at the same time.” – Over My Dead Body

Well, when you put it that way, Drake, yes. Yes, it is.

“Tell me how the f*ck we supposed to stay friends when you got a bunch of feelings that you don’t show.” – Trust Issues with The Weeknd

People aren’t mind readers. If a relationship is going to work, people need to speak what is on their minds.

You only live once. That’s the motto, n*gga, YOLO.” – The Motto ft. Lil Wayne & Tyga

I’m not even kidding. This line was legendary when he first dropped it and it always will be. Even if it’s overused, it’s true. Seize the day, fellow Drake fans.
