Not even close! Nicki Minaj is one of Hip Hop’s only artists with no album released, yet still pulling in nearly 50k just from one guest appearance on a song!
However, Nicki didn’t always have her money coming in this big, well, at least not while playing Veronica, a character in the low-budget, independent film, Stuck on Broke. Many of us know Nicki as Hip Hop’s, sometimes gangster/sometimes crazy, Harajuku Barbie who stays Twitter crazing with her millions of fans, which she refers to as ‘Barbies and Kens.’
But, not enough of us know that before she was the Nicki Minaj we all know, she was just Onika Tanya Maraj, a high school drama major student at LaGuardia High School in Brooklyn, New York. LaGuardia is famous for its programs that specialize in music,drama, and visual arts.

After watching the clip, many have already formed opinions on Nicki’s acting chops. Some say she should stick to rapping while others think given the opportunity, she could have major potential. Even though in this clip it looks like Minaj displays a bit of Tourette’s Syndrome, going back and forth between affectionate and angry, is 1:17secs really enough time to judge Nicki’s acting skills? Probably not, hopefully we’ll see more of this ‘Actress Nicki’ to judge for ourselves.
